Inner South Community Health
Resourcing health and education or ‘RhED’ is a specialist service for sex industry workers operating in St Kilda, run by Inner South Community Health. ISCH engaged Six Degrees to design the Inkerman street base, which provides a range of health, counseling and support services.
The site deals with complex social issues, encounters and relationships, which meant that the design needed to be intelligent and sensitive to these things. This can be seen in the glazing film Six Degrees developed for the front window of the facility. Its Moorish pattern is designed to provide screening and privacy while still letting light in. It is suitably subtle and understated, but distinct enough to be relayed and recognized between clients.
