Mirvac engaged Six Degrees to revitalise the ground plane of Riverside Quay along Melbourne’s Southbank promenade. The brief was to transform the bleak, windswept laneways into a vibrant, mixed-use commercial area that integrates with the bustling Melbourne CBD lifestyle.

Through a comprehensive analysis, a series of placemaking and retail design guidelines was developed, creating a cohesive design package that bridges the gap between architecture and landscape, breathing new life into this key urban precinct.

“Six Degrees embedded a Melbourne laneway culture into the precinct by changing the feel of the space, changing the ground plane and putting bricks and quality materials down. It’s really lifted the nature of the place. The public realm has transformed from a quiet and harsh environment to this wonderful place our staff get to enjoy every day.” Daniel Soussan, Senior Principal Town Planner, TRACT
